Large-scale outdoor LED screen displaying the video work integrated into the surrounding architecture.
The video is composed to align with the viewing angle of visitors riding the escalator, directing the image upward to match the viewer’s line of sight.

Wide installation view showing the video displayed across multiple faces of the outdoor LED structure within the public space.
This work was presented at the Media Cube in Haneul Madang, Asia Culture Center (ACC), Gwangju, and screened continuously over the course of one month. The installation consists of three distinct video outputs, each responding to a specific architectural condition of the site.

The first video spans three faces of the Media Cube, forming a continuous visual field that wraps around the structure. The second video is displayed along the escalator, composed to align with the upward viewing angle of visitors as they move through the space. The third video appears on the rear side of the cube, presented as individual, discrete screens that extend the visual experience beyond the primary viewing zone.

All video content was created using Unreal Engine, employing real-time rendering techniques to construct environments that closely resemble physical, lived spaces. The work begins with imagery of enclosed, dim interior environments marked by traces of the past. As the sequence unfolds, the scenes gradually transition toward outdoor spaces, natural elements, and everyday surroundings, emphasizing a sense of reality grounded in recognizable environments.

In the final phase of the video, circular and spherical forms emerge within the space. These geometric elements introduce a visual shift, suggesting an abstracted horizon and alluding to an idealized or utopian state without departing from the work’s overall commitment to realism.

The installation was designed to be experienced through movement. Visitors encountered the work while walking around the Media Cube, approaching it from multiple directions, and riding the escalator beneath and alongside the screens. Through this spatial arrangement, the video unfolds differently depending on the viewer’s position and trajectory, integrating cinematic imagery with the physical circulation of the site.
